All fishing is catch and release. Please use single, barbless hooks to help protect the fish.
Fly into Ulaanbaatar (UBN). We’re happy to help you plan your route.
Contact us to confirm the visa requirements for your nationality. Our Ulaanbaatar team can assist with the process. A scanned copy of your passport is requested when booking.
Expect cool evenings and changing conditions, including rain or snow. September days are often around 15–20°C (60–70°F). Bring warm layers and waterproof clothing. Camps have wood-burning stoves.
We’ll send a packing list before your trip. Anglers should bring their own fishing gear. A separate list is provided for other adventures.
Approximately 170 licenses are granted each year. International anglers must book with a government-endorsed outfitter, who arranges the fishing permit.
Each license costs approximately USD500 and specifies your name, fishing dates, and location. Fishing without a valid permit can result in fines, confiscation of equipment, and expulsion.
Please respect local customs and your host families. Our team will help you prepare for travel and activities in remote areas.
